Godot Wines was established in 2008, at that time the Italian wine landscape in Australia was very different from now.
After years of travelling extensively through Australian wine regions to support his family operations which included the import of Australian wine into Italy, Piero moved permanently bringing his passion for wine together with him.
At that stage with more than 15 years of experience in the industry, — importing, exporting, and pouring his heart into Godot Wine Bar, among the first ones opened in Italy and awarded best wine bar in Italy, he understood the opportunity.
As the company was growing Claudio then got into the picture.
Piero and Claudio first met at the University of Bologna - two friends who would go on to take very different paths - only to find themselves united by a shared vision years later.
Claudio's path took him into the world of Italian sports cars, working across different roles and countries within some of the most iconic automotive brands. It is a world built on precision, craftsmanship, and an unmistakably Italian pursuit of excellence — the same passion that, beneath the surface, also drives the world of fine wines.
When the opportunity to join forces in Australia arose, he left the automotive world behind, bringing with him the same passion essential in Italian heritage, now poured into wine instead of horsepower.
Today, thanks to the support of our professional team members and our logistics' partners network, Godot Wines still aims to add value to customers’ operations through a mix of product, service and the sharing of cultural background.
We strive to promote wines showing both non-mainstream grape varieties or the truest possible expression of “classic” ones.
We have long been supporters of small growers, organic, biodynamic and “vin natur” producers. Every region in Italy is represented in our diverse portfolio which includes many outstanding and sought-after wineries, often with wines available only in very limited quantities.
We continue to seek out the best producers with the highest possible content of varietal/terroir/philosophy character to introduce to the Australian market.
It will be a pleasure sharing our passion with you.
